The Study Centre has been successful in securing funding from 'Awards 4 All' to run two separate 'Media/Sport' based workshops over the October half term.

BACKGROUND

In partnership with Woodley Primary School, the Centre has teamed up to offer both Cale Green Primary School pupils and St John's CE pupils the exciting opportunity to interview first-team players and use the Centre's fantastic media facilities to create Podcasts and Mini Sports Documentaries.

AIMS

Forty children in total will have the chance to meet and interview County players such as Gaz Owen, Anthony Elding and Ashley Williams, to find out about their lifestyles, hobbies, interests, diet, family etc.

It is then the aim of the children to use our 'Multi Media' facilities to present their findings, from Mini DV Movies, through to Podcasts and Raps.

LEAD SCHOOL

Graeme Brock, Deputy Head of Woodley Primary School said: "This is a very exciting project that I am sure the children will really enjoy!

"As the lead school we are delighted to be working in partnership with Gary and the team from the Study Centre.

"Having County first-team players also involved, will, I have no doubt, ensure that it is a great success

"When we sat down with Gary to write the bid we were keen to include as many children as possible, the way the week is split up links Woodley pupils with pupils from both Cale Green and St John's, providing them all with an excellent opportunity to have FUN in a safe environment!"
