SCOTT TONSON
DOB:

Birthplace:
Davyhulme, Manchester.
Place of current residence:
Stretford (for my sins...!).

How and why did you become a County fan?
Through a friend whose Dad wouldn't let him go to the big games like United or City. I just got the Friday night bug and the rest, as they say. is history.
When was your first game?
Rochdale c.1988 although I have been told from relatives I was taken to a game in the early 80's.
Where do you drink on a matchday?
For me, I like my football sober.
Where do you usually sit?
Cheadle End, LT3, so the opposition keeper can hear me...!
Best County home game?
It would be easy to label the games against Man City but for sheer excitement I'd say either the Bolton 4-3 or the Wolves Boxing Day game.
Best County away game?
I guess under different circumstances the Darlington 5-0 would have been a dream, but I'll plump for the win over City at Maine Road.
Best County goal seen?
Tony Dinning's thunderbolt against Bolton at the Reebok was memorable, I also remember Luke Beckett's scissor kick against Mansfield - always extra special at the Cheadle End.
Favourite all time County player?
Have to say Luke Beckett, everything he did for the club was done with pure passion for the game. Everyone can slip into the trap of naming the likes of Big Kev and Kevin Cooper, but Luke (as yet) hasn't scored against us, so that's fine by me.
Any treasured possessions?
Apart from my website, and the 120+ football scarves, I guess my treasured possession is my County partner in crime, my daughter Carolyn.
How many games a season do you get to and what do you do if you can't get to the match?
I get to see all the home games (work permitting) and around 75% of the aways. As I can't get a signal from Imagine, I will always keep the trusty internet poised.
Best away ground visited?
Sunderland for sheer atmosphere, for closeness of the action I'd say Tranmere and for best memories Blackpool.
Worst away ground visited?
Macclesfield Town because I still think they are about 10-15 years behind making it League standard. Barnet for similar reasons but I'd say Wrexham because the police are well OTT.
How many grounds have you been to?
Over the years I've been to see loads, hard to label just how many.
Favourite way of travelling to away games?
Coach, although it has been known for me to let the train take the strain.
Favourite County song?
The Scarf, when sung properly, is enough to make the hairs stand up.
If there was a standing section would you use it instead of seats?
Definitely not. We've moved on so much in time. It's time to put these theories to bed, I'm afraid.
Best thing about being a County fan?
Belonging. You see United / City fans in their shirts every day of the week, but when you see a County fan in the street, you have a tremendous bond, even without saying a word.
