County's energetic and popular midfielder Dominic Blizzard believes Saturday's magnificent win at Peterborough United will earn his side more of the credit they so richly deserve.

Blizzard, who once again was in great form in the Hatters' engine room at London Road, spoke to the Express after Saturday's win, one that spoiled Peterborough's party as they blew a chance to secure promotion back to League One.

After Tommy Rowe's solitary strike had won the three points for County, Blizzard said: "All the lads are buzzing. Not a lot of teams go to Peterborough and pick up a win.

"I don't think we played particularly well football-wise, but we were hard working, resilient and hard to break down.

"We always looked a threat on the break and at the end of the day we deserved to win because Peterborough seemed to run out of ideas.

"We worked hard and made it hard work for them, but I'm just pleased as long as we win."

Blizzard added: "People have to take a bit more notice of us now. We're definitely the form team since Christmas.

"We've probably been the best team since then, so it's up to us now to just keep it going.

"A top three place can be there for us now. Everyone in the squad believes that.

"There's plenty of confidence in the camp and everyone is backing one another up.

"I think we've got every chance of going straight up as long as we keep concentrating on ourselves."

That last comment certainly led to the striking of a chord with Blizzard who, when asked how he felt about spoiling Peterborough's promotion party, was clearly dismissive.

"I don't really care about Peterborough," added Blizzard. "We just went into Saturday's game thinking about how we could win.

"I couldn't care less if they get promoted or relegated, I just wanted to win and get promotion with County."

Blizzard concluded with a brief look ahead at this Saturday's crunch home clash against Paul Ince's high-flying MK Dons.

"Hopefully we can go again on Saturday and show everyone just what a good team we are," said Blizzard.
