ADAM Proudlock came straight into the squad after signing non-contract terms on Thursday.
There were two changes from the side that impressed at Mansfield with Adam Le Fondre replacing the injured Bramble and Rob Clare coming in for Michael Rose.
First chance of the game came when Briggs floated a ball into the area that met the head of Griffin, but unfortunately for County it went well over.
GOAL! County broke the deadlock on the 12 minute mark when Griffin made a run from the centre of the park. His cross was volleyed home by Murray to send the home side into raptures.
County had the chance to double their lead on the 19 minute mark when Gareth Owen hooked the ball into the box, however Robinson was not able to get a touch on the ball and it floated away from danger.
Keith Briggs was the next man to get a chance to double the lead when he got a head onto Adam Griffin's corner. However the ball was too high for him to make any major impact and the score stayed level.
Against the run of play, Stanley nearly got back into the game when Andrew Todd got his head on the end of a Leam Richardson cross, his effort floating marginally wide.
Despite losing some momentum, County carved out some decent chances as the first half reached its climax. Adam Griffin creating the best chance when his shot went just wide of the near post.
At the other end Accrington won a free kick on the edge of the County area that Peter Cavanagh put just wide of the post. The lack of quality from Accrington in the first 45 would have made a goal unjust.
As the half time whistle drew close, Ian Craney fired a shot in from 25 yards that went just wide of the far post to the relief of the County support.
Second Half
The first chance of the second half came when Clare found Murray on the right flank. The on-loan striker made a run into the box and pulled off a shot that just tipped the far post.
Murray was unlucky seconds later when his shot from a County corner had too little power on it and was gathered with some ease by Dubavin.
County, on top for large parts of the second half created another golden opportunity when Robinson put a ball into the box only for Le Fondre to misguide his headed effort.
There were calls for a penalty at the other end when Rob Clare brought down Mullin in the area, only for the referee to turn away the calls.
The referee was quickly becoming public enemy number one with the travelling support when he turned away appeals for a corner following Craney's free kick, which was clearly deflected over the bar. To the disbelief of the Stanley fans though, it was advantage County.
Accrington, who started to turn the screw came close when Mullin's headed effort was tipped over the bar by the commanding Spencer.
Spencer came to County's rescue again on the 63rd minute when Boco got on the end of a Cavanagh cross, only for the number one to produce an acrobatic save to preserve County's lead.
On a rare County breakaway, Tony Dinning got a good head in at the far post following a Briggs corner kick, however the Stanley keeper was equal to it.
There was nearly cause for celebration on the 74th when Murray and then Taylor's efforts were cleared off the line in quick succession. Seconds after this, Murray again headed over the bar from just a few yards out.
GOAL! Despite some sustained County pressure, Michael Welch produced a wonder goal to deny County their lead. He picked up the ball from the centre of the park and smashed the ball into the top left hand corner. Spencer could only watch.
Welch, who had three games on trial at Edgeley Park in the summer of 2005 was, understandably elated.
It was nearly game over when Roberts hooked a ball just wide, to the relief of the County fans.
County's inability to finish teams off came back to haunt them. Accrington were poor in the first half but County allowed them a way back into the game surrenderring all three points. There is still room for improvement.
Accrington Stanley, who are they? County know only too well.
