Match Barnet

Jim Gannon made just one change from the side that was comprehensively beaten at Torquay. David Beharall came in to the side in the place of Liam Dickinson. Rob Clare meanwhile, returned after injury.

Barnet included Stockport-born, Paul Warhurst in their side along with former Gillingham manager, Andy Hessenthaler.

The first chance of the game went the way of Barnet when Liam Hatch found Dean Sinclair in space and it took a wonderful James Spencer to deny the Bees an early lead.

At the other end Adam Griffin was given the chance to break the deadlock when he made a wonderful turn, but his resulting shot rebounded painfully out!

Moments later and County nearly scored again when Michael Raynes made a wonderful header across the face of goal and Ashley Williams missed an absolute sitter from inches out. Seconds later Kevin O'Connor had a long range shot that went just wide.

A Jamie Ward free-kick created another opening for County on the 21st minute when his cross met the head of Raynes and again his chance went wide and out of danger.

On the half hour mark, County despite their dominance had Spencer to thank when the reliable number one made a wonderful save to again deny Dean Sinclair. A goal would have been unjust.

In the dying moments of the first half, Jamie Ward found Adam Griffin who spooned his chance high over the bar.

The first chance of the second game saw Nicky Bailey head goalwards, and again it was man of the match James Spencer called upon to keep the scoreline level.

Moments later Liam Hatch had another opportunity to put The Bees ahead when he broke in to the box and slid his shot wide of the post, when it had looked easier to score.

At the other end, the energetic Jamie Ward found Bramble in space, but the oldest player on the pitch, Hessenthaler made a vital tackle.

As we entered the nail biting climax, it was Barnet who were on top and when Liam Hatch made a mess of a golden-edged opportunity the game looked to be heading for a deadlock. Moments later County were at fault when they made a mess of their offside trap, and Dean Sinclair was able to exploit

There was a moment of madness when the linesman flagged following an encroachment on Dan Ellis inside the area, only for him to change his mind to the disgust of Mark Robinson.

Seconds later Tes Bramble created a moment of genius when he produced a volley from the touchline that went just over.

As the clock ticked away Adam Griffin found Dickinson in space but his shot was blocked and in the end County will go into the final game of the season knowing that they need to get something from Carlisle to be safe.
