Jim Gannon has been busy over the last fortnight securing the services of a number of his highly-promising young players.

The latest to sign on the dotted line is Matty Mainwaring who has agreed a 12-month deal after leaving leaving Preston North End.

In his first interview the 19-year-old told County TV he now intends to work hard over the summer and try and force his way into first-team reckoning.

He said: "If I'm being honest I'll be doing everything I can to be in or around the first team next season."
