County fans face a big increase in their mileage when the Hatters enter League One next season.

After driving 4,202 miles to get to every away game (and back) during the current campaign, the Blue & White army will now face a total mileage of 5,972 to see their Wembley heroes in action in Coca Cola League One, with an average distance of 130 miles & travelling time of 2h 24m each way.

Last season's longest journey was Dagenham & Redbridge, a round-trip of 434 miles. Next season, that will be eclipsed by trips to Southend (462), Colchester (472 miles) and furthest of all Brighton (510 miles).

Whatever had happened at Wembley, however, we'd still have been in for some long journeys - League Two in 08/09 will see Aldershot (a journey of 439 miles), Exeter (476 miles), Gillingham (479 miles) and Bournemouth (498 miles), totalling at 5,358 miles for every away game. That's a total average of around 117 miles & 2h 9m each way.
