Stockport County and Stockport Council are inviting all County fans and local residents to welcome the team back to the borough this evening (May 27).

This follows County's superb achievement in winning the League 2 Play-Off Final at Wembley yesterday afternoon.

County and the Council have organised an open-top bus tour and civic reception for players and officials and the bus will take the following route.

7.30pm: Bus departs from Caroline Street, off Mercian Way, opposite Edgeley Park.

7.30-8.00pm: Bus travels along Mercian Way and along Greek Street.

8.00pm (approximately): Bus crosses the A6 Wellington Road South, and into Edward Street, and immediately left into Lacey Street behind Stockport Town Hall.

A few minutes later the players and officials will join the Mayor of Stockport, Councillor Pam King, on the formal Town Hall steps on the A6 opposite the former Stockport Infirmary.

At this time, the A6 Wellington Road South, which will be closed for a short time.

Pure Radio will interview County Manager Jim Gannon, Chairman Norman Beverley, and the players live on the Town Hall steps.
