RED CROSS COLLECTION
Posted on: Fri 09 May 2008
Football in the Community and the British Red Cross would like to thank all the County fans who contributed to the 'Bucket Collection' held by volunteers from the Red Cross, prior to kick off and at half time during our fixture versus Brentford last Saturday, for their genourosity towards the charity.
Fifteen volunteers were out and about within Edgeley Park rattling their buckets raising much needed funds for the Red Cross.
The Greater Manchester centres of the charity provide vital services for local people and, without donations from the public, these services would not be available. The Services include immediate support for anyone involved in a fire, free skin camouflage consultations, providing first aid support for local events and an emergency response team, on call 24 hours a day.
Jo Allott, Senior Fund Raiser from the Red Cross, said ' We raised £493.33 which is fantastic - the County fans were really friendly to us and really generous'. Well done and thanks you to all who donated on the day.
