Jim Gannon will give Liam Dickinson as long as possible to prove his fitness before naming the side to take on Wycombe Wanderers on Sunday evening.

The Hatters' Player of the Year strained his hamstring in the penultimate game of the season at Chester and is still rated doubtful for the semi-final first leg against the Chairboys.

But his rehabilitation is gathering momentum and the 19-goal hitman, speaking exclusively to stockportcounty.com, said:  "I'm not too sure yet. I've been running for the last two days and although I'm feeling all right I haven't done any kicking or anything.

"Rodger's going to save that until Saturday or Sunday and we'll see how it goes from there."
