Jim Gannon has awarded a 12-month contract to James Vincent and the 18-year-old is expected to be named on the bench alongside Amari Morgan-Smith, one of the Just search For A County Star Winners, when Brentford visit SK3 on Saturday.

And the County chief further underlined his belief and confidence in his young players at Edgeley Park by handing Gianluca Havern his full debut.

The Under-21 skipper is expected to start at right-back.

Speaking to stockportcounty.com about Vincent, Gannon said: "Academically, and on the pitch, he's one of the most intelligent players I've ever seen.

"He's got frightening fitness. He's the fittest player at the club by far. He's tall, he's athletic, he's a good passer and he's got everything the modern professional needs."
