Matty McNeil is using the possibility of a Wembley Play-Off Final as motivation as he begins the final stage of his recovery from knee surgery.

Speaking to stockportcounty.com he said: "I'm going to start running next Monday and hopefully things will keep progressing and Rodger thinks that two weeks and I could be back.

"The possibility Wembley will definitely drive me on and hopefully I can play a part in the play-offs.

"But that will be down to my leg and how my fitness comes on and then the next thing will be down to the Gaffer and whether he feels it right to put me in the team, put me on the bench or not use me at all."
