Stockport County have been dealt a blow on the eve of their FA Cup clash with Staines Town after Leicester City refused permission for Conrad Logan to play.

With the 'keeper on a season's long loan, and allowed to play in the Carling Cup earlier in the campaign, the Hatters were confident the Irishman would be available on Saturday.

That is not the case, though, which means transfer-listed Chris Adamson will come in for his County debut.

Speaking to stockportcounty.com a disappointed Jim Gannon said: "When you have a player on a year-long loan then you expect him to be able to play in all the competitions.

"We didn't have an issue with the Carling Cup so it has surprised us that he can't play tomorrow.

"It's disappointing for the lad because he was looking forward to the game but what an opportunity to Chris Adamson to step up and stake a claim, which is what he's been asking for."
