Jim Gannon is set to meet Anthony Elding later this afternoon (Oct 18) following Tuesday's decision to suspend the striker for seven days whilst the club investigates a potential breach of contract and a potential breach of Football League Rule 66.4.

Speaking to stockportcounty.com earlier today, he said: "It was a difficult situation for myself because to many people he's a valued player, but I have to protect the interests of the club and, if you like, the principles and values of everyone within the club and send the right message to our players.

"However, I have got the opportunity to speak to Anthony this afternoon and I look forward to it being a productive meeting.

"Perhaps there might be some remorse, or reconciliation, at a later stage."
