Stockport County Football in the Community are very excited to announce this Saturday's Cheshire derby against Chester City has been designated Football in the Community Day.

As part of the initiative they have launched a special ticket offer to primary schools throughout the town and surrounding areas and already more than 500 seats have been snapped up for the smile Family Block on the Pop Side.

Other events scheduled to take place on the day include:

Pre-match presentation of the 'Football in the Community County Player of the Year.

A lap of honour by County's representatives, Queensgate Primary School, who won the Football League Community Tournament at Wembley.

A 'Keepie Uppie' competition, with the winner going forward to represent County in the National Final at Manchester City in December.

Primary School children to parade the 'Kick Racism Out Of Football' banners around pitch.

A half-time game between two Primary Schools to support our 'Kick It Out' week of action.

A special presentation of £9,000 to Football in the Community by County's Club Sponsor, Steve Parfett whose company, Parfetts Cash & Carry, is also sponsoring FITC's After-School Programme.

Lots of fun in the Family Lounge where children get the chance to meet their favourite County players.

The day promises to be a very exciting for all the family and Football in the Community are delighted to be given the opportunity to increase awareness of the work they undertake throughout the borough and also to bring in many new fans to support their local football team.
