Stockport County's Football League Community Cup representatives, Ashdene Primary School, narrowly missed out on a place at Wembley last Friday.

The Wilmslow boys overcame 70 local schools to win their place in the Community Cup Divisional Finals for Under-11s, which were staged at Goshen Playing Fields in Bury.

But despite beating Chesterfield and Rochdale and drawing with Darlington Ashdene, resplendent in County's famous white shirt with blue chestband, failed to qualify from their group.

Hopefully County fans will be able to watch the final between Morecambe and Rotherham United live - it will be played before the League 2 Play-Off Final at Wembley on May 26.
